>Phil Belanger, VP of marketing for BelAir Networks is a wireless LAN
industry veteran with over 25 years experience in R&D and marketing for
network systems companies. He was one of the founders of the Wi-Fi Alliance
and served as chairman of the organization from its formation in 1999
through March of 2001. Phil was also an active participant in the
development of the IEEE 802.11 standard and is one of the authors of the
DFWMAC protocol, which was selected as the foundation of the Medium Access
Control protocol for the standard.
>Prior to joining BelAir, Phil served as Vice-President of Marketing at
Vivato. Before Vivato he served as Vice-President of Marketing and
Vice-President of Wireless Business Development at Wayport. Phil held
various executive positions at Aironet, a pioneer in the wireless LAN
industry that was acquired by Cisco in 2000. Prior to Aironet, Phil was
Vice-President of wireless development at Xircom and General Manager of
Communications Products at Adaptec.
