this has litle or nothing to do with communications and everything
about avoiding injuries and workman's comp claims.
the press release says absolutely nothing about interference,
only about"protection for and safe operation by utilities personnel,
as well as the safety of non-utility workers."
the work was sponsored by the Power Engineering Society and
it's about commonly-used *hardware*, specifically
primary couplers, and installation methods.
my dad worked in the electric power biz his whole life and
i'll stipulate this is probably useful, nee necessary from the
point of view of the guys in the bucket trucks who have to deal
with the gear without getting hurt.
it has nothing to do, however, with whether their employers are
crazy enough to try and do BPL.
