Some more fun things are underway at google maps it seems...

It's the final part of a conference held last month:

"if Google can do it, then eventually anyone could do it, being quiet

Of course, it's not just Google, either:

For field day, think about how cool it would be to have
much more precise and machine parsable location specification
in ham radio logging software, and how interesting it
would be to see a google-earth type of visualization of
the times and paths of field day contacts.
